Content Mapping Design Exercise

I went to the New York Transit Museum; the floor plan I sketched is the exhibition of  New York's Trolleys and Buses.

Big Idea

the big idea of this floor is to introduce the development of New York's Buses ( ground public transmit). Mostly, it is like an archive of NY buses, through time and some models for audiences to experience the development.

Narratives

the narrative is talking through the time. The left side of the space is the most narrative part of the exhibition. It is the timeline of the development of ground transmit from 1810 to 2000. And there is also the tech development of ground transmit (from trolleys to buses)

Content

The content is all about the ground transmit of New York in this part; everything here is telling audiences what ground transmit in NY looks like and how it has been upgraded.

Artifacts/Interactions.

The artifacts there are different size models of buses and trolleys. Also, the space of the place is well decorated with a beautiful drawings that can be photographed. There is a crosswalk with traffic lights that mimic the NY street look on the ground. Big size models are 1:1, visitors can sit on the driver's spot or on the bus. The whole place is built on an old subway station, so it itself is part of the collection.
